♥ Cutting back to fit the page requirement is hard. Hopefully it makes sense. At least I finished my paper, with more than an hour to spare. Woo!

♥ Policy paper deadline EXTENDED to Thanksgiving week. I'm still going to try to finish it for next week. =)

♥ Bought tickets to the Chocolate Show for Saturday. The Hubby's going with me. CHOCOLATE! Squee! =D

♥ Going to a friend's birthday party Saturday night. Burgers and FRIES! Yummyummyummy. =P

I have about a page down, and I'm looking through all my notes to see if I can stretch it out to about another page or so before putting in my two-cents. I'm also hoping my citations are correct because I have been forewarned by my prof that she is a Grammar and Citation Nazi. 0.o

I'm feeling very productive right now, and I hope it sticks with me until I get this thing done. I'm denying the urge to take another nap, though the signs of a possible upcoming cold make it harder to resist. =?

Weekend's been pretty low key. Tomorrow's The Hubby's birthday, hence my desires to make and bake. Oh, and my desire to eat tons of chocolate, too. =D

Update: It's about 11:57pm, and I'm almost done with my paper. Yay! I have to finish off one more section, then put in my own personal perspective, and proofread. I might have to take a break and nap for an hour or so, but I'm determined to get this baby done before the sun comes up tomorrow. Woo!

Oh, and I got to making the ganache for The Hubby's birthday truffles. Mmm. It's tasty. =P

After getting all worked up that my barbecue might not happen, the clouds broke and God blessed me with sunlight for a good part of the day.

The Hubby and I awoke early to prep everything for the split-second decision we would make about going forward with or cancelling the event. We were tired and we easily got on each others' nerves. However, our moodiness subsided when headed out to scope the picnic area. We pushed our thoughts to *BBQ-happening MOJO*, while the sunlight danced between the clouds. We talked about what we would still need to get, and who said was coming. A few times during the drive, I'd say out loud that I hoped the weather would keep, especially with the forecast calling for 30% chances of thunderstorms/showers all day. Just the worrier in me. =T

We arrived to the site, happy to see that the area wasn't as mucky as we thought it might be after lots of rain, and decided to have the barbecue. Yay! We quickly headed over to ShopRite to get some last minute barbecue items, and went home to pack and get ready. We had to be at the site at 10:30am, so we needed to hustle. We took turns getting ready and standing watch at the picnic site before our guests arrived.

( I had so much fun at the barbecue that I'm exhausted now. )

I'm happy and grateful. The Hubby was just as happy as I was that we were able to have it. I know he recognized that I needed this decompression. I think he needed it too.

I feel really good today. Tired, but content.

I reserved a picnic area in the park for my birthday barbecue! Yayayayayayay! *dances around* Gotta tell The Hubby and Liza. I'm so excited! =D

On top of that, it's another gorgeous day, and the temp may go up into the 80s. Woo!

I woke up in a funky mood, which lasted until early in the afternoon. ( The rest of my Sunday was relaxing and pleasant. )

We finally got home about an hour ago. The Hubby's watching The Sopranos right now, and I'll be watching some CSI soon. I can't tell whether I'm feeling tired, or restless, but I know I'm rambling now, so I think this shall be the end of the entry. Good night!

A) I finished reading for my class, and will finish my critique in a few minutes.

B) After calculating rewards points and discounts from various sources, we'll be able to get the camera we want for less than the listed price before our trip home! Woo! I can't wait!

C) I have 2.75 packages ready to be sent. My goal: finish the other 0.25 tonight. =)

D) I got the application for the local chapter of the social worker's honors society (Phi Alpha). I'm very optimistic about my application.

E) I am in such a good mood today, despite the cold. =)

F) I get to start Christmas shopping/gifty making early this year because I won't be in the country by mid-December! Woo!

G) It's one of my favorite sorority sister's birthday today! Happy birthday to my Jaymie!

H) A certain crafty lady's birthday is coming up on Friday. ;-)

Not really. But it felt like it. I left at 9 and came back at 9. It was a very full day. I'm glad it's over.

I did a little errand shopping before work. I got a few art/craft things from Michael's. My sorority sister's birthday's on Monday, and I found a cute sticky pad and a Sudoku puzzle book to give. Afterwards, I stopped by ULTA for some face lotion and lip balm. I also had a nice deli lunch with The Hubby. The place makes really good red potato salad. Yum. =P

I found the perfect shots for the new theme layout I'm trying to work on. If I find more choice scenery, I might take more. The colors were gorgeous!

I got to work a little late, but my super was understanding. I ended up co-facilitating all the groups with one of the interns today because the rest of the staff were catching up on paperwork to prep for JCAHO. The kids were kind of all over the place, probably because there were 7 of them cramped in a small space all afternoon. Or maybe it was a full moon? One kid shut down twice, and another had 3 mini- and 1 large meltdown. With my paranoia, I wondered why they were acting out with me? Probably because I'm still a little green.  =? Ah well. There was no real mutiny, and the kids are all safe at home now.

Once we got home, we shared some ramen and cookies for dinner, while we watched L&O: CI, My Name is Earl, and Scrubs. The Hubby thinks he might be getting sick, so he went to bed early. I think I might join him.

Went out with Liza Friday night to have dinner and window shop. Green bean fries at TGI Fridays with wasabi ranch dipping sauce. Mmmm.
Went apple picking with the kids for work on Saturday. I got some gala and winesap apples.
After work, went to NYC to celebrate a couple of friends' birthdays. We hit Chinatown for dinner, then the Billiards Bar, then a club called Vesta. The bar was nice. Some people played snooker in the back, while the rest of us lounged. Vesta sort of sucked. The music wasn't that great. =?
Celebrated The Hubby's birthday by watching The Last Kiss and then having a Penang/Popeye's/Filipino dinner at the in-laws with my family too. He was very happy to get the Firefly  series, and was okay with the HD dvd of Serenity. He said he wants to keep it for when we get an HD dvd player. We did some things when we got home, then crashed to sleep.
Went to work yesterday. Uneventful.

That's all for now. My tea's getting cold. Allergies kicking in. Need to jet to work with The Hubby now.

We just returned from seeing The Last Kiss with Zach Braff for The Hubby's birthday. What a movie! I liked it, despite it being depressing. It was an interesting parallel to The Hubby's life because of the characters' age group (he just turned 29 today, and all the characters were turning 30). It's something I'd like to get once it comes out on dvd. If you liked Garden State, then you might like this movie too. /movie plug

So, that part of the movie date was good. What happened afterwards was <insert expletive here>.


I thought these two women were <insert another expletive here>. I was so pissed of how they got into his face like that. They talked during the movie. Not us. They were just pissed that The Hubby called them out on it.

We continued to talk about it on the way to Quiznos. He said he anticipated them getting defensive like that, but he also felt like it was something that "they shouldn't get away with". We were both feeling kind of pissed off by the time we got to Quiznos, but there was nothing we could do. We weren't sorry we sat in front of them. We were just sorry it went down like that. After venting and ordering, lo and behold! Green and Orange ladies show up in Quiznos. What kind of weird coincidence was that?? The Hubby and I went over, and apologized for how it went down. They were civil. Green lady was able to apologize back for getting so defensive. Orange lady didn't say it, but we like to believe that she looked apologetic as well. So weird.

Once we got home, The Hubby vented to his friends via text. I vented here. So there you have it. I'll update about the rest of my weekend later, as well as catching up with my f-list. I hope you're all having a good one.

RSN: I noticed at Quiznos that the ladies were wearing the same colors The Hubby and I were wearing (him green, me orange). Weirdness!

I've been trying to work on a new LJ layout for months, but I can't seem to get the creative juices flowing enough to sit down and do it. I have an idea for a banner, inspired by one of the quotes in blackbirdshaq's journal, but I couldn't get to it today like I hoped. I started working on an icon though. At least it's something.

I fell back on the cheap version of my creativity by baking cookies (chocolate chip and orange crisp)for The Hubby's birthday this weekend. He was happy, OD'ed by sugar.

Ugh. I hate it when I have an idea for something, but the execution escapes me.

After a long and exciting day at work, I decided to spend some time being a mallrat. First thing I did was get my freebie chocolates from the Godiva Chocolatier and entered their sweepstakes to win free chocolate for a year. I hope I win, not that I need all that sugar. =P

I stopped by NY&Co to look for some dress pants for work, but found nothing that really caught my eye. I stopped by Macy*s and bought a new, sophisticated bag for myself. It's got brown and black, so it can go with everything. Added bonus was the 30% off sale that was going on. I also bought a black blazer to add to my changing wardrobe. I figure that I'm in my mid-twenties, so I should really try not to look like I'm still in HS (in terms of dress-style).

I also picked up a birthday card for The Hubby, which brought tears to my eyes because it's that sappy. =P

I spent about $60 for everything today. Pretty good, considering the quality of the stuff I bought, though I'm not used to spending that much in one day. Does that make me a cheapskate? Probably. *L*

I bought an HD dvd of Serenity for The Hubby's upcoming birthday. What I failed to realize was that the sticker, right above the price sticker, said, "For Use Only with HD DVD players and drives." o.0 Oops. We don't have any one of those, and they're too expensive right now to buy one for his birthday. =? I got a gift receipt, so I guess he can return it if he wants to, or just hold on to it until we can afford to buy and HD player. I plan to give him the Firefly series and home-baked something too.

In other news, it's getting kind of cold here. I like it. Especially after a good morning swim. =) That is all. You may return to your regularly scheduled computer work/play.
