This past week's been mostly good. I'm feeling okay about work again, probably because I don't feel like I'm stuck anymore. May Madness isn't too bad, thus far. I think I need a little non-work-related madness to keep me balanced. I know work's been consuming all of my time, and posts, for months now.

The Board finally called me to tell me they got my application and that everything's complete. Woohoo! I'm on "The List" for application review at the end of this month. Now all that's left are the fingerprinting, background check, and more waiting.

There's a position opening up in another dept at work, in which I'm somewhat interested. It sounds like a great opportunity to expand my repetoire to more than just group programming, but I'm hesitant about the driving and all-day fieldwork. However, I will still submit my resume to the program supervisor tomorrow. I'll keep my options open to going elsewhere, perhaps closer to home with less fieldwork responsibilities. We'll see.

We celebrated the BIL's birthday and Mother's Day without too much craziness. Moreover, our family's getting ready for our big Europe trip at the end of the month. I wish it were here already - I need a vacation.

I can't believe it's May tomorrow! Let the Madness begin!

Work's still pretty busy, and is keeping my very tired. However, I was able to catch up with almost half of my flist's posts, and do a little exercise this week.

Things are going pretty well. Counseling appointments are productive, as is work. I actually feel less anxious about "screwing up" with the kids, and am now kind of enjoying it. The kids are actually taking me more seriously, and I feel really confident that I'm helping them in some way, without damaging their already fragile support system. =)

In addition to work, the past couple of weeks surrounds around food and family. This weekend will be no exception. Fortunately, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. We're having a birthday dinner for my bro this Sunday, and that will be the end of it. He's now 21. *sniff* They grow up so fast. /sniff. May Madness is coming to a close, and I won't really have to worry about another birthday until mid-July. *big sigh of relief*

The Hubby's good. He's been tired as well due to May Madness and my work schedule. Summer hours should help alleviate the fatigue in a couple of weeks.

I forgot to mention the pressies I got recently, but I'm too tired to remember them all, and I want to include pics. The ones foremost in my mind are: Cadbury Flake and a thoughtful saying of Friendship in a beautiful frame from lizabug, a plush monkey PEZ dispenser from my sis, and a fun Disney princess paddle ball from blackbirdshaq. That's because I saw them this morning. =P Maybe I'll get to them this weekend.

Yay! It's your birthday!

All week I've been thinking about how much I missed having Saturdays to myself, instead of going to work (the past 2 didn't count because I was on vacation). Now that I have this Saturday to myself at home, I realize how boring it is. I actually kind of miss going to work. =? I know I'll probably start complaining again next Saturday, when I have to get up at 7am to shower and get going. *sigh*

Time to get my butt off this computer chair and do stuff. I have to make the most of this Saturday to clean up and upload vacation pics before The Hubby gets home and before classes start again on Tuesday. There's also still a little bit of May Madness left to keep me busy spending money and buying gifts.

I went out for a bit to drop off some mail at the post office and to stop by The Rag Shop for gift-wrapping stuff. While at TRS, I was tempted by all the lovely yarn and beads. I started getting all excited with these grand ideas for crafty birthday gifts. However, I did resist the urge to buy the stuff for those ideas, at least for now. There are a lot of projects I still haven't completed, the gift ideas are for friends' whose birthdays are in July, and I still have a couple of birthdays this month for which to buy gifts.

When I got home, my sudden urge to be crafty reminded me that my sis has been working on her boy's website to display his visual and verbal artwork at RecycledSoul.net. She's been working on it for the past year, and is mostly done. The site looks so amazing! While I looked at his visual artwork, I listened to the "spoken word" of some of his poetry. I was blown away by the passionate intensity in his voice and by the subjects of his art.

I am in complete awe of both of their skills. 0.0

Came back from shopping, and I'm proud to say that I resisted the urge to spend more on myself than on the gifts I had to buy. I got a couple of camis, a t-shirt, and some VS items, costing no more than $50. I do enjoy the perks of having store credit cards and using the discounts. =)

I bought the BIL the dvd and video game The Hubby asked me to get. I also got my mom's Mother's Day gift out of the way: a couple of camis from which to choose and layer underneath a wood-bead embellished tank, a matching purse, and some hand cream. I hope she likes them. =? There were some small things I found for the MIL and GMIL, but we'll still need something else to add to them.

Got some lunch at Nathan's and mango fruit bubble tea for dessert/snack--both of which I haven't had in a long time. Enjoyed the bubble tea. Nathan's was a bit disappointing.

I still have to think of something for the FIL, my cousin-in-law, and my bro's birthdays. I need to write a note to myself about making Mother's Day cards.

Weekend will be busy with work and celebrations.

Woke up to the sound of The Hubby on the computer, downloading bit.torrents of Supernatural and ER. I don't think I like the DVR anymore. >:( Made The Hubby miss the first 5 minutes of ER.

Need to get ready soon to go shopping for the rest of my bro-in-law's birthday gift--a dvd and a video game to accompany his chocolate and vanilla mochi balls. Might buy some plain t-shirts for myself from Old Navy (I got the 20% off bag in the mail). Need to think of other birthday gifts and Mother's Day and gifts too. All my mom wants are diamonds though. o.0 She's all about the shineys. *L*

Okay. I should get some breakfast in my stomach and de-funk myself. Today's a new day, and there's lots to do.
