I woke up in a funky mood, which lasted until early in the afternoon. The rest of my Sunday was relaxing and pleasant. )

We finally got home about an hour ago. The Hubby's watching The Sopranos right now, and I'll be watching some CSI soon. I can't tell whether I'm feeling tired, or restless, but I know I'm rambling now, so I think this shall be the end of the entry. Good night!

Sunshine and showers

Today was even more beautiful than yesterday! It was so warm outside that I was able to wear my orange and cream sundress to the shower. I've been dying to wear something light and "dainty" (as my mom put it), all week. =) The sun made me very happy, even though I had to spend much of it indoors for Carissa's shower.

The shower went well. Many people said they had a good time and commended us, bridesmaids, for our efforts in making the shower entertaining and beautiful. I was able to see Liza and some old HS classmates, too. Carissa said she loved everything. The most entertaining part of the shower to me was that Carissa's first 10 or so gifts were all bath towels! *L* It was to the point that the guests began to lose interest in playing Shower Bingo. =P It was busy, busy all the way to the end, but it was worth it. This was the worst of it. The shower was a success, and people seemed happy.

I stopped by my parents' house for another few hours after the shower, chatting with my parents about my cousins and our visit to Canada at the end of May, and talking to my sister about recent happenings and friendships.

I'm now at home, geting ready to eat more pizza with The Hubby. I feel so tired, but not really sleepy. It's been a long day, and I'm ready to unwind now.

It has to be said

Spring is here!

So, my mood has vastly improved. I haven't been much in the mood to post these days, mostly because my life is somewhat dull right now, but also because the weather's gotten so much warmer, and I'd rather spend my days outside or doing much-needed relaxing.

I spent the weekend in Dallas, visiting The Hubby. The weather was gorgeous, despite the forecasts of chance thunderstorms throughout the weekend. =) We did the Tourist Thing on Saturday, walking around Dallas, visiting the place where JFK was shot, and going through the Sixth Floor Museum (dedicated to the JFK assassination). We went to this place called Papadeaux, which had awesome creole/cajun seafood, and had enough left over for a full meal the next day. On Sunday, we mostly relaxed, and took in a flick with Lucas Haas called Who Loves the Sun, one of the many films offered during Dallas' first AFI film festival. Some parts of the movie were good, but not enough to win a high rating from either of us. We got back to the hotel early, so The Hubby could do some laundry, and so we could catch up on some shows. I left Monday morning, and got back in time for my class, but not really because of my dinner outing with Cris and her Jon.

My internship's winding down, and tonight's my final group with my kids. We're going to be doing a little art project/recap, followed by a mini-pizza party. I feel a bit frazzled getting everything together (I was never good with party planning), but I think I have just about everything I need.

Well, need to get ready now. If only there were a place I could have my group outside. It's so gorgeous!

Daylight at 7pm??

Not that I'm complaining. I like having sunlight when I get out of work. It's less depressing. =) It's just weird to have that kind of sunlight before Spring officially begins next week. =P

Anyway, I'm here. I've just been very busy with different things. I'm still trying to catch up on my f-lists, too. Though I'm not really commenting, I am reading everyone's posts. Anything pressing that I must know now??

It's FREEEEEEZING! I have the heat temp turned up to 90 degrees (F), but it's still cold in this bedroom. =?

Despite the weather being so crappy, Rutgers reported normal classes and I had a counseling appointment, so I headed into campus. What normally took 10 minutes, took 3 times as long. =? I was shocked to see that none of the major highways were plowed, but I'm happy that I got home in one piece.

On the way home from school, I got a call from my internship office that they'll be closing early today, so my supervisor told me I didn't have to come in, only to do 2 hours. Yay!

So now I'm at home, huddled under my down throw, putzing around, and watching A-Team. I never realized how cheesy it was when I was little. 0.o

Stay warm and safe everyone!

Random note: I've just been hit in the eye with sun glare from an opposing window from mine. ~.0 I guess the sleeting rain's stopped. Maybe the sun'll warm up the place a bit, before it has to set. =)

Life is like a carnival

There are so many different things to do and see at a carnival. There are the rides, the food, the games, and the spending time with friends/family. Today felt like one of those days.

I went to bed really late last night; thus, waking up around 10:30am. For most of the morning, I felt like I was one of those carnival bystanders, as if I was just watching things happen. I know I did things, but I felt like I was watching someone else do them.

By around noon, I began to be more active: doing laundry, finally working on the slideshow of family vacation photos, and doing classwork. I felt like I was playing carnival games, waiting for my chance to win something. The only thing I won was Finish-the-Laundry.

By the time The Hubby got home, the carnival rides began. The ride most frequented: Emotional Rollercoaster. I was so excited to see him, because we were going to the local church carnival for dinner and to experience the carnival itself. However, The Hubby sounded tired and appeared to be annoyed.  Walking to the carnival, his tone of voice made me feel as if he was accusing me of doing nothing all day. It could also be my guilty conscience thinking that--I could have done more around the house. =? We stayed for a while, walking around, watching others play games, and went back home with a bag of zeppoles. We began talking about the children we saw there, talking about our concerns with raising teens, and ended up with hurt feelings about what we think the other was trying to say. Ugh. Sometimes I feel like he belittles what I have to say. I apologized to him for how I hurt his feelings, though I'm not sure he believed me. =?

I wish I didn't end up crying whenever I tell him how I feel. I'm afraid he thinks I use it as a ploy for him to pity me, which is not what I want. Sometimes I just want to have a deep conversation with him, without the freaking debates where I always feel like I have to defend my position. Bleh.

As a final comparison, carnivals are temporary, as is this kind of day. I'll need to play the Wheel of Chance and maybe the Dunk Tank to get my good mood back on track.

Semiannual Semester Rant - Update

I finally finished both of my papers, and now I'm relieved. I finished the more difficult of the two at 1pm today, after staying up almost all night to try and finish it. I ended up being late for class by an hour and a half, but least it's done. I almost done care if I made a lot of mistakes. Mommabunny, I think half of it turned out to be gibberish. Thanks for the encouragement. =P

Since it was so beautiful out, I decided to pick up some lunch at PathMark, grab a book, and eat outside. I sat at a little picnic area I found in my complex a few weeks ago. The Hubby's been here for years, and he didn't even know it existed. *L* I stayed out for about an hour before the buggies started making me itchy.

It was a nice day, and I'm glad the papers are done. Just one more assignment, and I'll be good until the summer session starts. Yay!
